New Bergerber Man

Can’t Wait for the IPO: Trash Opportunity Knocks

Case: D2000-1672

Complainant: Telstra Corporation Limited

Respondent: Heaydon Enterprises

The Defense:

[I]ts business is called "Thetelís Trash Op", and involves the auctioning of unwanted goods over the internet. The Respondent asserts that Mr Hartley has the nickname "The Tel", that the business involves "trash and treasure" and is like an "opportunity shop". The concatenation of various parts of these observations, lead to "TheTelís", "Trash", "Op", and hence the domain name.

The End As I Know It: A Novel of Millennial Anxiety, by proprietor Kevin Shay, is now available in paperback.
