Jack Frost (1998)
Michael Keaton is often maligned, but I’ve always found him fairly watchable. Trouble is, in this misbegotten picture (which I reluctantly admit to having seen about 3/8ths of), what you’re watching for most of the time is a creepy snowman with Keaton’s voice coming out of its creepy stick-mouth. Not to be confused with a probably far superior horror film of the same title, in which there is no human character named Jack Frost and the snowman kills people.

Bruce Campbell as an early-1800s spy, and... Verne Troyer as Napoleon?! Why is this show off the air?

Jack of Hearts (1999)
Someday, I may see one of these Jack of Heartses. But it won’t be this one. For one thing, Frederick Exley devotes an inordinately large chunk of Pages From a Cold Island to ragging on Ben Gazzara, and I haven’t been able to watch him with a straight face since reading it.
