I tried New version 1.2.
Default Field Values is very nice function.
I wanted this.
Below is the very small issue.
1.Text Area Settings.
Create New ExtraField, type is "TextArea"
Not check "Show formatting and resizing buttons" & "Apply text filters when published"
and Save
Show formatting.... & Apply text filters..., They are still alive.
note:1.13 and 1.2
2.Date Field, "year" default Range
Create New ExtraField, type is "Date"
Default Range of year is 2000 to 2006.
It should be 2000 to 2007 ?
Go to "Defaults" tab
check "Current date/time "
Click "New Entry"
"Year" is not "Current"

Thanks for the report. I've fixed #1, and for #2 I've changed it to default to 2008 for a new Date field. These fixes will be in the next beta version.
If you have a Date field with a year range that doesn't include the current year, and default to the current date, it still will not have a year selected, because the year is not present in the menu. I'm not sure if there's a better way to deal with this--maybe a "current year" option for the end year when defining a field?
